SUPER BOWL LV

The picks are in and we are ready to go!  It’s simple this year as #2 The Pickers have KC as their POW while #4 Barry Mcockiner has chosen TB as his POW.  Good luck to both!

SUPER BOWL

We are down to the final two players,  #2 The Pickers and #4 Barry Mcockiner.   Both players have already won $200 and the winner this week gets an additional $200 and free entry for next season.

This week works a little different.   The players can choose the point spread winner and the Over/Under.  Either one can be their POW.  If both players make the exact same picks,  the winner will be based on the higher seed’s POW.  In this scenario, if The Pickers POW wins he wins, otherwise Barry Mcockiner wins. Players can choose either option or both.  They must pick at least one.

The website does not allow for this so the form to make picks is below.

DIVISIONAL ROUND – TOP 4 SEEDS ADVANCE

DIVISIONAL ROUND UPDATE:

All 4 top seeds have advanced!

#1 Glen’s Hero +3 ADVANCES over #19 Mojo Toes -1.

#2 The Pickers +5 remaining picks: CLE, TB) ADVANCES over #13 Schuetzy -1.

#3 Rondone +3 ADVANCES over #8 Steelerhawk +3 as both players have identical picks so the outcome is based on the higher seed’s POW which was a win for Rondone.

#4 Barry Mcockiner +5 ADVANCES over #7 Kliner -1.

NEXT WEEK’S MATCHUPS

#1 Glen’s Hero vs. #4 Barry Mcockiner

#2 The Pickers vs. #3 Rondone

Taron Johnson’s 101 yard (Playoff Record) pick six sealed the deal to send Buffalo to the AFC Championship for the first time since the 1993 season.

Congratulations to Drew Brees on a Hall of Fame career.  Unfortunately, he ran into Brady in January.

WILD CARD WEEKEND FINAL

After a crazy weekend of football, we have 4 players advancing to the Divisional Playoffs round.  Two guys on a Bye weeks had +3 in what amounts to an practice rounds for #2 seed, the Pickers and #4 Barry Mcockiner.

As far as those who advance we have #7 Kliner with +2, #8 Steelerhawk and #19 Mojo Toes at +1 and #13 Schuetzy squeaks in at -1 as the others at -1 did not win their POWs.

Next weekend’s matchups for the Divisional Playoffs are:

#1 Glen’s Hero vs. #19 Mojo Toes, #2 The Pickers vs. #13 Schuetzy, #3 Rondone vs. #8 Steelerhawk and #4 Barry Mcockiner faces #7 Kliner.

WILD CARD WEEKEND ROUND

The lines for Wild Card Weekend are ready.  The following players will be competing this weekend for 4 spots to face the top 4 regular season finishers (#1 Glen’s Hero, #2 The Pickers, #3 Rondone and #4 Barry Mcockiner) in the Divisional Playoff Round:

#5 Rabbit, #6 Mad Max, #7 Kliner, #8 Steelerhawk, #9 Real Deal, #10 Tripper, #11 Air Jordan, #12 Big Red, #13 Schuetzy, #14 Chark, #15 Air India, #16 Mister Sam, #17 Pazzi, #18 Dmacii, #19 Mojo Toes and #20 Crease King.

The software is forcing me to make a mandatory game (just like Monday Night Football) and I have chosen the last game of the weekend which is Cleveland @ Pittsburgh.  You will have to pick at least 4 games and of course have a POW.  The software is also forcing a total points pick for the Cleveland / Pittsburgh but won’t have any bearing on any tiebreakers.

The tiebreakers for this weekend’s competition will be POW correct first, then Mandatory Game (Cleveland/Pittsburgh) correct and then regular season finish.  (The total points tiebreaker HAS NO BEARING on the outcome.  It is a holdover from the regular season. )

ALL PICKS ARE DUE BY THE 1 PM KICKOFF SATURDAY, JANUARY 9TH.

WEEK 17 – GLEN’S HERO WINS SEASON TITLE; BIG RED WINS WEEK

Week 17 goes to Big Red with a +11 that moves her from out of playoff contention to 12th place.

Glen’s Hero ends the season in 1st overall with a +29 winning $700.  The Pickers came on strong the last few weeks and takes 2nd with +27 winning $300.  In 3rd is Rondone at +26 winning $200.  In 4th place is Barry Mcockiner at +19 winning $150.  These 4 players get a bye for the Wild Card Weekend and will be matched up with the top 4 finishers next week in individual matchups for the Divisional Playoff round.

Places 5th through 8th win $50 each.  5th place is Rabbit at +18. 6th is Mad Max who edges out 7th place Kliner based on POW records, both ending at +17.  Steelerhawk at +16 finishes in 8th edging out Real Deal based on POW records.

Next week will be the Wild Card Weekend playoff tournament for places 5 through 20.  The top 4 finishers next week will get matched up with the top 4 seeds (who receive a Bye next week).  Tiebreakers for next week will be POW won and then regular season finish.

Matchups for the Divisonal Round will be based on regular season finish with #1 Glen’s Hero taking on the lowest remaining seed, #2 the Pickers taking on the 2nd lowest remaining seed and so on.  Each round will be re-seeded based on regular season finish.

In addition to the top 8 players mentioned above, the following players will be participating in the playoffs:

WEEK 16: TRIPPER WINS 2ND WEEK

Tripper ends Week 16 with a +9, giving him his 2nd weekly prize.
